The most expensive of the list costs US $ 270 (R $ 705 in a direct conversion), which gives a little more than $ 0.30 (US $ 0.78) per gigabyte. There are two product versions: with and without hardware encryption.

The large disk space made possible by a new technique called Magnetic Recording Shilgled, in which data are stored about each other like tiles. Usually the bits are recorded on tracks. With this, the company managed to put 25% more data in the same space.

The new hard disk rotating at 5900 revolutions per minute, with transfer between 150 MB and 190 MB per second. Not exactly fast, but their purpose is to back up, and, in the item reliability, MTBF (mean time between failures) is of 800,000 hours (91 years); Furthermore, the manufacturer warrants 3 years. Consumption is 7.5 W when active and 5 W at rest.

For now, it seems that only the American Amazon is selling the new accessory and yet, in lots of 20 units.
